PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH  A
"BUSINESS AFTER HOURS" MIXER

 

There are still several months in 2010 that do not have business hosts for mixers.  It is a great way to promote your business in a social setting.  Mixers are held the last Thursday of each month.  Get together with another business and share the work and the expense!   Call Cindy at 775-3551 to reserve your month.
 

Fort Clark Days 2010

The 2010 Fort Clark Days kicks off on Friday March 5 at 11:00 am with the arrival of over 500 kids from various area schools. The living historian event begins at 8:30 am with officers call at the mounted statue followed by the posting of colors and the signal gun firing at 9:am.  All retired and active military are encouraged to attend and join this wonderful event.

 
Friday's events are:
Firing of the Cannon/Gatling Gun/ Mortar 
Military group in Old Time Baseball Uniforms performing
Selected Arts & Crafts
Selected Food Vendors 

Friday at 6PM Camp Fire Dinner and Music $6.00, per person come join us for this afternoon of fellowship and great music. Join in the singing by the camp fire. This is a true camp fire dinner, poor mans stew and biscuits. Drinks available. Hackberry Hags, singing Old Country and Gospel Music and the Holloman Harmonizers singing old time country. 

Saturdays events start with the check in of the 5K Run/Walk at 7:30 am, warm up at 8am and the race at 8:30 am.

All day events include Arts & Crafts, Living Historians at the Garrison along Las Moras Creek, Food & Drink, Bounce Booth for the kids, Antique Cars, Motorcycle Show, Face Painting at the Art Studio, various Exhibits, US  Border Patrol, Val Verde Medical Center, 4H exhibitArmy Representation Booth and much, much more.

Timed Events Going on:

Costume Contest at the Butcher Block at 11:30.  Be sure and take your place a little early if entering the contest.  Men, Women and Youth Division will be awarded.

Bake Sale from 9 to 1:30  at Shafter Hall 

Youth Talent Show 12:30 Post Theater  (get there early to sign up)

Raffle Ticket Sales until 3:00pm.  Drawing will be at the Butcher Block 3pm, you may buy your tickets at the information booth or at the table in front of Seminole Hall on the corner.

Chip & Putt Contest 12 till 3 on the par 3 golf course.  Three Divisions - Men, Ladies and Youth Division will be awarded, be sure and check this out!

Job Description

The Del Rio Chamber of Commerce,  a Texas non-profit Corporation, with 470 members +,  is seeking a full time Executive Director who will manage all aspects of the Chambers activities and oversee the activities of the Convention & Visitors Bureau.

This position is responsible for representing the business interest of the Chamber members and promoting business growth in the Del Rio community.  The Executive Director will participate in the development of annual programs and events and budgets as well as implementing policy developed by the Board of Directors.  There should be a strong emphasis on business retention and marketing.    

Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to handle any situation diplomatically.

Compensation:  This is a salaried position and initial compensation is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience and education.  Bilingual a plus.  Health insurance provided.

Location:  Del Rio, Texas 150 miles West of San Antonio, Texas. 

With a population of nearly 50,000, Del Rio is home of retail, industry, health care, tourism, education, agriculture businesses, Amistad National Recreation Area, Laughlin Air Force Base and the U.S. Border Patrol Sector Headquarters.
